Soc709, Applied Regression Analysis

Ted Mouw, 268 Hamilton, 962-5602.

Michael Roettger, office hours TBA

Overview:  This is the second semester of the sociology graduate statistics sequence.  We will primarily focus on linear statistical models—how to do them, what assumptions they make, what the consequences of those assumptions are, and how to make inferences using them.  We will also touch on a number of other related topics.

Course objectives:  My objective for this course is to help you understand the mechanics and intuition behind basic data analysis.  I think this can be a fun and interesting process.

Class schedule:  The class schedule, along with everything else, is online.  Go to my webpage, www.tedmouw.org to find the link to soc709.  For reserve reading, I will distribute a password in class.  Please refer to the online schedule only.  Do not use a printout, as I will change things.  Lecture notes and questions are also on line.
