Business Planning Resources
-
LearnVC.com is a website created by a UNC
alumnus to help entrepreneurs understand the venture capital
funding process.
-
The Kauffman Foundation
is a major funder of entrepreneurial education at UNC and around
the nation. Their website has extensive resources for
entrepreneurs.
-
Stanford’s Online Videos
has streaming and downloadable videos of well-known speakers on
entrepreneurial topics. Guy Kawasaki’s segments are particularly
good.
-
University of Colorado
has an excellent business plan preparation website. Templates,
sample plans, spreadsheets and other tools are available.
-
United States Small Business
Administration (SBA) has many resources for
starting a business.
-
Small Business Canada,
the SBA’s counterpart north of the border, has a variety of
helpful online resources, arguably better than US SBA.
-
St. Louis University
has an excellent list of resources with descriptions
and ratings.
-
Startup Journal is the
Wall St. Journal’s Center for Entrepreneurs with lots of
“how-to” articles.
-
Sample Business Plans from MootCorp,
the premier business plan competition hosted by the University
of Texas.
-
Bplans.com has a
bank of sample plans, though they are not very well written.
They might be a good source of data as your research your
specific industry.
-
Writing an Effective Business Plan
(PDF) by Deloitte and Touche. This guide is a
little on the corporate side, but it has some good suggestions
for keeping organized.
