FAQ

Who can take this class?

Any faculty, staff or student (and space permitting, alumni) at UNC-Chapel Hill. If we run out of space, priority is given to individuals most committed to taking the entire LTV series, that is, they have an idea and want to assemble a team.

How do I sign up for the class?

Go to the UNC Event Registration site: LTV Registration

Can I audit it?

Yes

Can I attend individual sessions?

Yes. The Course Registration site allows you to choose individual sessions or all sessions, for-credit or not-for-credit.

What is the cost?

$0 to attend sessions not-for-credit. To receive credit, faculty and staff may use tuition waivers. Students receive credit and pay tuition through their normal channels. There is no extra charge for this class.

Is LTV I required to get into LTV II?

No. Anyone can apply to LTV II (LTV II Online Application). About half of applicants generally are accepted into LTV II. LTV I is designed to help you assemble your team and put together a solid application.Taking LTV I does not guarantee a spot in LTV II. You will have to apply and be selected.

Is LTV II required after LTV I?

No. However, if we must limit LTV I due to classroom size, priority will be given to individuals who will be pursuing the entire LTV series. An alternative for those who are only interested in an introductory course is the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship.

What is the difference between
LTV I, II, III and IV

See Launch Program website.

Do I have to have an idea?

No, but again if we have class size issues, priority will be given to those who are pursuing ideas and would like to take the entire LTV series.

Do I need a team?

Not for LTV I, but you will need one to get into LTV II.

When does class meet?

All LTV courses meet Monday evenings 5-8, and most sessions are split in two, with a lecture followed by a panel or workshop.

What about parking?

Ample free parking after 4pm in the business deck.
