Tar Heel Bus Tour

The Carolina Center for Public Service hosts the annual Tar Heel Bus Tour for the Chancellor's office. Each year, approximately thirty-five new faculty and senior administrators travel by bus for five days throughout the state to learn about critical issues facing North Carolina and ways the University is working to help address them. More than 320 participants have journeyed from the coast to the mountains and points in between since the tour began in 1997. Learn more.

Since 2004, CCPS has provided funds for Bus Tour participants to continue their connection to the issues and communities they learned about on the tour.

The Carolina Center for Public Service strengthens the University's public service commitment by promoting scholarship and service that are responsive to the concerns of the state and contribute to the common good.
