Faculty Engaged Scholars Program

The Faculty Engaged Scholars Program is an initiative of the Carolina Center for Public Service to advance faculty involvement in the scholarship of engagement. Such scholarship, while fully grounded as disciplined inquiry according to the highest academic standards, also strengthens university-community relationships and contributes to the common good.

The first class of eight Faculty Engaged Scholars was selected in October, 2007 and the second class October, 2008 to participate in the two-year program to learn about and pursue community engagement through scholarly endeavor. Currently, Dr. Ronald Strauss serves as faculty director and Mrs. Lucille Webb as community director. Read the press release about the first class of Faculty Engaged Scholars.
