Faculty Engaged Scholars Program
The Faculty Engaged Scholars Program
is an initiative of the Carolina Center
for Public Service to advance faculty
involvement in the scholarship of engagement.
Such scholarship, while fully grounded
as disciplined inquiry according to
the highest academic standards, also
strengthens university-community relationships
and contributes to the common good.
The first class of eight Faculty Engaged
Scholars was selected in October, 2007
and the second class October, 2008 to
participate in the two-year program
to learn about and pursue community
engagement through scholarly endeavor.
Currently, Dr. Ronald Strauss serves
as faculty director and Mrs. Lucille
Webb as community director. Read the
