African and Afro-American Studies is a student focused department, committed to excellence in teaching and advising. We offer numerous opportunities for independent field research and honors projects.
In addition, the Department is an enthusiastic participant in the First Year Seminar program, which allows first-year students to broaden their perspective in small classes with distinguished faculty members.
