For Research in Social Science

The Applied Statistics Working Group

The Applied Statistics working group encourages the use and development of statistical techniques that have applications across the social sciences.  It provides a forum for faculty members, post doctoral fellows, and graduate students to receive feedback on research papers, keep up-to-date on recent statistical developments, share advice on data analysis problems, and find ways to improve the teaching of social science statistics at UNC-CH.  The group meets approximately once per month during the fall and spring semesters.Speakers from other institutions are often invited to discuss recent innovations in the field of applied statistics.  The working group is chaired by Shenyang Guo (School of Social Work).
