Tracks of Study

The Applied Sciences Curriculum is a program for outstanding students interested in the basic problems of science and who have an engineer's knack for practical applications. The first two years of study provide the basic background in chemistry, physics, and biology along with the required mathematical and computational skills. In their junior and senior years students concentrate in one of three tracks.

In the Curriculum, Applied Sciences majors are thoroughly grounded in the fundamentals of science, especially chemistry, physics, biology and mathematical analysis. Students then gain experience using these scientific and mathematical skills to solve important problems in the applied sciences.

In addition to their major in Applied Sciences, students completing the Bachelors of Science degree also receive minors in both mathematics and physics. In today's increasingly technological world, graduates in the Applied Sciences are in high demand in industry, teaching, and research.
