Areas of Research: Dr. Gabriel Dichter’s research uses brain imaging and psychophysiological techniques to examine core deficits and response to treatment in autism spectrum disorders and affective disorders.  Research opportunities include the chance to use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at the Duke-UNC Brain Imaging and Analysis Center. Opportunities exist for Dr. Dichter to co-mentor students applying to work with psychology faculty members, including Dr Gary Mesibov.

Areas of Research: Dr. Gary B. Mesibov is currently the Director of Division TEACCH. This internationally recognized statewide program is one of a kind in its pioneering approaches to research, service, training, treatment and the education of individuals with autism. Dr. Mesibov also serves as Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, and Clinical Professor, Department of Psychology. Opportunities exist for co-mentorship arrangements with faculty members in the Department of Psychiatry.
