Sitefinder Guide: MSEN Centers

CMSE is one of ten mathematics and science education centers located on various campuses of the University of North Carolina. The centers do not have exclusive service areas, so, generally speaking, teachers from all parts of the state are welcome to make use of the facilities and programs of any of the centers. Several of the MSEN centers are within easy driving distance for at least some teachers of the greater Triangle area. Check out the programs of our colleagues at these campuses:

Centers Nearby Fayetteville State University Mathematics/Science Education Center MSEC has a very active program of teacher workshops and courses; full information is available on this site. Greensboro Area Mathematics and Science Education Center GAMSEC combines the resources of NC A&T State University and UNC Greensboro. Check the MSEN site for information on contacting the center. North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics At NCSSM, MSEN programs are part of SPIRE, the school's outreach division, which also administers the Educational Future Center and Summer Ventures programs. North Carolina State University Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education CRMSE is MSEN's research and development center, but sometimes it offers teacher workshops and institutes connected to its research program.

Down East East Carolina University Science and Mathematics Education Center SMEC serves a large area of eastern North Carolina from its Greenville office. UNC Wilmington Science and Mathematics Education Center This active web site has complete program information and a variety of other resources.   Western North Carolina Appalachian State University Mathematics and Science Education Center ASU MSEC serves northwestern North Carolina from the Boone campus. UNC Charlotte Mathematics and Science Education Center UNCC has an extensive program of activities in the Charlotte area. Western Carolina University Center for Mathematics and Science Education WCU serves teachers throughout the central and southern mountains from Cullowhee.

UNC Mathematics and Science Education Network

The Network office coordinates the work of the ten centers and administers the higher education portion of the Eisenhower federal grant program in North Carolina.

 

And Our New Grandparent:
UNC Center for School Leadership Development

This new office of UNC General Administration will guide the UNC system's outreach programs to the public schools, including MSEN.
