Assistant Director and Pre-College Program Coordinator. Dianne joined the
Center in July 2000 after four years of teaching science at Neal Middle School
in Durham. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and both bachelor's
and master's degrees in chemical engineering. Prior to entering the teaching
profession she worked four years as a chemical engineer with the Mobil Chemical

CMSE Associate Director and Clinical Associate Professor of Education. Before
coming to the Center in 1992, Pat had thirteen years of classroom experience
as a science teacher and served four years as coordinator of science, mathematics,
and reading instruction for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. She is
a past President of both the NC Science Teachers Association and the NC Science
Leadership Association and has served in many capacities with the National
Science Teachers Association. Her doctoral degree is in science education.

CMSE Program Manager. Sherry is responsible for program registration, arrangements,
and management. She has 17 years of service to the University and has been

Assistant Director and Coordinator of the North Carolina Middle Mathematics
Project. Jason taught at Farmville Central High School in Pitt County before
joining the math-science center at East Carolina University as Acting Director.
After joining the CMSE staff in January 2002, he also began work on his Ph.D.

Center Director, Clinical Professor of Education, and Adjunct Professor
of Mathematics. Russ was a mathematics professor for 13 years at the University
of Tennessee, Knoxville, before becoming director of the Center in July 1987.

for Pre-College Program arrangements and management. She's been with the Center
officially since October 1992, but actually she had worked as a temporary
