Preceding the lecture, there will be a reception at 5:00 pm in the North Carolina Collection Gallery (Wilson Library, 2nd floor), where there will be a special exhibit on the life of William R. Davie, in celebration of the semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) of his birth. The reception, exhibit viewing, and lecture are free and open to the public.
