| Summer Research Grants
This year summer research grants for faculty are dedicated to the development of the new Southern Studies curriculum. For more information, contact Harry Watson at hwatson@email.unc.edu. UNC graduate and professional students are encouraged to apply for summer awards of $1,500 that can be used for summer research or other academic projects. Proposals are welcome from
graduate and professional students and faculty in any discipline.
The deadline for submission for summer 2008 is March 21, 2008. Awards
will be announced in late April. Students will receive funding in May.
Graduate and professional student award recipients will be expected to
present the results of their work in the annual spring Southern Research Circle's Interdisciplinary Conference for Graduate Research on the American South. Recipients will also
submit short written reports on the work done with the grant, and these
reports will be posted on the Center’s website to provide a continuing
file of research findings.
