The Center for the Study of the American South offers support to UNC-CH graduate students to travel to scholarly conferences. Graduate students at UNC-CH who are presenting papers or comparable productions about the American South at scholarly conferences may now apply for as much as $400 in annual travel support from the Center. To apply, please send a letter of request to Barbara Call, Administrative Manager, Center for the Study of the American South, CB#9127, stating the name and department of the applicant, the name, place, and date of the conference, the title of the paper, and a brief travel budget. Applicants should also attach a copy from the conference program documenting the presentation, an abstract of the paper, and a note from the graduate adviser certifying that the applicant is a currently enrolled graduate student in good standing.
