| The Center's Visiting Scholars have come from as nearby as Durham, North Carolina, and from as far as Montreal and Tokyo to study the South and make use of the multitude of resources for research at UNC. To date, the Center’s Visiting Scholars Program has hosted 17 academicians from other colleges and universities around the globe, including, most recently, Timothy McCarthy from Harvard, and Norio Hirose from the School of Law at Kwansei Gakulin University in Nishinomiya. Visiting Scholars are entitled to full privileges at all of the University’s libraries and manuscripts collections. In addition, the Center also assists scholars in meeting and conferring with UNC faculty. Scholars are eligible to apply for office space as well. This program does not provide a stipend. |
