Person Centered Thinking
Focused on Developmental Disabilities

While introducing the underlying values and principles expected of a person (and family) centered approach, as reviewed in the NC DMH/DD/SA communication bulletin #34 (attachment | memo), this training event explores the concept of a strengths based approach in considering what is important to and what is important for the person (and/or family). This dynamic training event uses a variety of teaching techniques including presentation, individual and group exercises, and discussion. This event stimulates participants to establish “person centeredness” as a guiding principle when considering the natural and paid supports best suited for individuals and families.
