The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has announced an important forthcoming conference on China, to be held on the campus Thursday, November 4, 1999, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Organized by the University’s Center for International Studies and Kenan-Flagler School of Business, the conference’s theme is “The Politics of Doing Business in China: Chasing the Dragon’s Tail and Winning.”

Speakers will be Sidney Rittenberg, president, Rittenberg Associates; M. Christine Vick, partner, Andreae, Vick & Associates; Louis Kraar, board of editors, “Fortune” magazine; William Warwick, chairman and former CEO, AT&T China; and Michael Hunt, Emerson Professor of History, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The keynote speaker is the Honorable Li Zhaoxing, ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the United States.

A registration fee of $90 will be charged.
