New Publisher Enters on Duty
American Diplomacy announces with regret the resignation of Ambassador T. Frank Crigler from the post of publisher. He has decided to concentrate on other facets of his long-standing interest and involvement in foreign affairs. A co-founder of this journal on the World Wide Web in 1996, Ambassador Crigler has been instrumental in establishing American Diplomacy as a commentator on U. S. diplomacy, past and present. His untiring efforts and wide ranging imagination will be missed, but the journal's parent organization, American Diplomacy Publishers (ADP), will continue to benefit from his membership on its board of directors.

We at American Diplomacy have the good fortune to welcome as its new publisher R. Bartlett Moon, a retired senior Foreign Service officer. He was a charter member of the ADP board of directors and has been that corporation's treasurer for more than two years. His association with American Diplomacy therefore has extended over a considerable period of time.

Bart Moon entered the career Foreign Service in 1956 and retired in 1989. Most of his seven posts abroad were in Latin America. He was deputy chief of mission at the U. S. embassy in Caracas from 1980 to 1984. Another of his assignments was as a senior Foreign Service inspector.

Our new publisher earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Missouri and completed graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley; Columbia University; and the U. S. Naval War College. He served in the U. S. Air Force. In retirement, Mr. Moon has worked part time for the Department of State and after relocating to North Carolina in 1992, has served as board of directors president of a volunteer nonprofit agency that provides interpreting and translating services to Spanish speakers in his home county. In addition, Mr. Moon has participated actively in events sponsored by the Triangle Institute for Security Studies, a sponsor of this publication. He and his wife, Calista, are members of NAMI of North Carolina.
