Thomas Geraghty

Professor Geraghty works in the areas of British and American Economic History, with emphases in applied Industrial Organization (especially the economics of the business firm) and Labor Economics. His current research investigates the development of the factory system in Britain and the United States during the First Industrial Revolution (1770-1850). He is also working on a study of the effect of labor market institutions on strike behavior in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th century. Professor Geraghty received his PhD in Economics from Northwestern University in 2001.
