Industrial Organization
Dr. John Stewart was trained as an empirical industrial organization economist
and in his early career his research centered on corporate merger behavior,
regulation and antitrust. Since 1985, most of his work has concentrated on
maternal and child health issues in developing countries. He has been a Fellow
of the Carolina Population Center since 2001. Dr. Stewart has worked on a
number of the Measure and Measure/Evaluation projects. He currently serves as
cost expert for the MLE (Measurement, Learning and Evaluation) Project funded by
the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He also current serves as International
Technical Advisor for the Netherlands Project, Centers of Excellence for Human
Resources for Health for Economic Evaluation in Vietnam.
Professor Stewart is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Minor.
