Geetha Vaidyanathan is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at UNC. She has worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at UNC-Greensboro for 15 years. Her teaching interests are in Macroeconomics, International Economics, Monetary Economics, Business Statistics and Development Economics. Geetha holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mysore University, India, M.S. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kentucky.
Geetha’s interests include volunteering in the community. She is a Uelstchi Grant recipient and teaches Economic Development as an APPLES course. Her students participate in a wide range of organizations such as Research Triangle Institute, Nourish International, Carolina for Kibera, and Carolina Microfinance Initiative as part of their service learning experience. Geetha is also the faculty advisor for the Carolina Economics Club.
