A century of world-class teaching

UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

Originally the School of Commerce, the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School started in the College of Arts & Sciences when the University's Board of Trustees approved its formation on Jan. 14, 1919. That intersection between business and the liberal arts became the foundation for the program's approach to preparing students with the kind of enduring knowledge and skills they need to navigate a complex future.

Today, UNC Kenan-Flagler is consistently ranked one of the world's best business schools and is known for renowned faculty, extraordinary learning experiences, innovative research and five core values of excellence, leadership, integrity, community and teamwork.

It is a leading global professional school of business. Its research influences business leaders, academics and policymakers, and its graduates are known for their effective and principled leadership as well as their technical and managerial skills.

We have deliberately taken on a complex mission to offer programs for a wide range and number of students, and to deliver excellence in every program. … Pioneering new ways of educating future business leaders is part of our DNA.
