| Investigating the Classroom Assessment Literacy of Board Certified Teachers is a research study designed to assess differences in classroom assessment knowledge and practice between National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certified teachers and their non-certified peers. Researchers will analyze the assessment components of current certification standards across teaching fields, develop a unifying conceptual framework applicable to all, develop instruments from that framework to assess teachers' assessment literacy, and gather data to compare certified and non-certified teachers. EvAP will survey a random sample of 250 Board-certified teachers and a comparable sample of 250 non-Board certified teachers from across the state of North Carolina to assess their perceptions about classroom assessment. A smaller sample of NBPTS certified teachers, matched to a sample of non-certified teachers, will also be selected for more intense study. |
