Greetings
and welcome to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
NC-MSEN (North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network)
Pre-College Program webpage. The primary goals of the Pre-College
Program are
- To broaden the pool of students
pursuing mathematics and science based majors and careers.
- To recruit and prepare students
of average to above average ability in grades 6-12 who have
not been sufficiently exposed to mathematics and science based
courses and careers.
Parents are encouraged to become
involved in the Parents Involved for Excellence (PIE) club at
their student(s) school. PIE Clubs support and assist in planning
activities with the teachers and students in the Pre-College
Program.
The UNC Chapel Hill Pre-College
Program is looking forward to an exciting year. We have dynamic
and exciting activities planned for our students, teachers and
parents. We will continue to work for our students by providing
the most innovative and exciting activities for them. We want
to improve our communication with parents through the newsletter
and parent workshops. We want to strengthen our relationships
with the school systems we serve – Alamance/Burlington,
Chatham, Durham,
Chapel Hill/Carrboro and Orange County Schools.
