Civic and Extracurricular Activities:

Teresa Cerrato was born in Honduras. She attended the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras, where she started course work for a major in psychology. During her junior year in college she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship (CAMPUS IV) to complete her undergraduate degree at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. She went on to earn master’s degrees in Spanish literature and counseling, also from West Virginia University.

Previous to coming to UNC, Teresa worked with the Upward Bound Program at Salem International University in Salem, West Virginia.  She has also worked as a Spanish instructor and as a program coordinator for a women’s support center.

She enjoys reading, taking long walks, and listening to music.
