Patrick P. O'Neill

Patrick O'Neill holds the Norman and Dorothy Eliason Chair of English. He was a Fellow at the National Humanities Center (2001-02), and is currently a Research Associate at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, School of Celtic Studies (1990-) and a Fellow of the Institute of Oriental and Occidental Studies, Kansai University (2003-05).

Among his publications are:
Glossae Divinae Historiae: the biblical glosses of John Scottus Eriugena, with John J. Contreni (Florence, 1997);
King Alfred's Old English Prose Translation of the First Fifty Psalms (Cambridge, MA, 2001);
Cáin Adomnáin and Canones Adomnani, 2 parts, with David N. Dumville (Cambridge, 2003);
The Study of the Bible and Gaelic History (Cambridge, 2003).

He is currently completing a book on cultural relations between early Ireland and Anglo-Saxon England (635-735).
