For concerns about directions you might take as an English major, potential projects, possibilities for further study, or other questions relating to your career in English, you can consult with an English faculty member.

Many English majors may be satisfied with the connections they have already established with faculty. You should continue to visit with your current professors or with faculty with whom you already have a strong relationship.

Majors may also request to be assigned a faculty mentor. A mentor will offer advice as needed about areas of interest and options for English majors and can consult with you throughout your time in the Department. You do not need to request a mentor, but if you wish to draw upon this additional resource, you may fill out a request here and we will find a faculty member you can consult with.
