With the General Education Curriculum changes going into effect during the Fall 2006 semester, the requirements for the English minor will be changing slightly. Please notice that no courses have been removed from any of the required groups, though a few courses have been added here and there. Essentially, you now have more courses from which to choose when completing the requirements for the minor.

Prior to Fall 2006
Fall 2006 (new numbers and requirements)

Five courses are required (15 credit hours)

English 20 or 21 (both are recommended)

At least three courses numbered 30 or above.

Of the five courses, at least one must be American literature (English 80, 81, or 83).

Five courses are required (15 credit hours)

English 120 or 121 (both are recommended)

At least three courses numbered 200 or above.

Of the five courses, at least one must be American literature (English 343, 344, 347, 348, 367, 443, or 444)
