| IMPORTANT NOTICES FOR
APPLICANTS: |
| Federal Law requires each new
employee to complete the "Employee Information and Verification"
section of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Form
I-9 and to submit certain original documents for examination in
order to verify and certify identification and employment
eligibility. |
| |
| Effective January 1, 2007, in
compliance with North Carolina Law, the University will verify
each individual's legal status or authorization to work in the
United States after hiring the individual using the Department
of Homeland Security's Basic Pilot Program. An
individual's employment will be terminated if they fail to
comply with the employment authorization requirements or if it
is determined that they are not authorized to work in the United
States. |
| |
| When the appointing department
selects a prospective faculty appointee, the University will
complete a criminal conviction check prior to the appointee's
first scheduled day of work. A criminal conviction does
not in and of itself bar a faculty appointment at the
University. The nature of some convictions, however, may
cause certain appointments to be unavailable to you.
Failure to completely disclose information about a criminal
conviction or plea admitting guilt on applicable forms required
of faculty appointees is considered falsification and may result
in the appointee not being eligible for initial or continued
employment at the University. |
