Dariuš Zifonun is our new German Academic Exchange (DAAD) professor for 2006-9. He comes to us from the University of Konstanz where he received his Doctorate from the Department of History and Sociology and his MA in Public Administration and Policy Studies. He has also served as Visiting Professor at the Institute for the Study of Global Issues, Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo.

While at UNC Prof. Zifonun will teach a course in the Transatlantic Masters Program—European Integration and Europeanization in Comparative Perspective—and courses in European politics and society in the Political Science department at the undergraduate and graduate level. UNC-Chapel Hill has a history of drawing excellent DAAD professors; Prof. Zifonun continues that tradition.
