Academic Programs

The Center is home to both an undergraduate major in Contemporary European Studies (EURO) and to the unique graduate program, the Transatlantic Masters (TAM). Both degree programs require high levels of language proficiency in West European languages. To support this requirement, the Center also runs the Languages Across the Curriculum (LAC) program for UNC-CH. In the LAC program undergraduates are encouraged to complete social science and humanities coursework in the target language (French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish) and graduate students from the social science, humanities and language departments are trained in our annual LAC pedagogy workshop.
