Introduction

Il y a deux raisons principales pour porter le hijab en Egypte. Bien des musulmans croient que le Coran les oblige à se couvrir la tête. Même si c'est une question de religion, c'est aussi une question de sécurité. Plus de gens semblent respecter les femmes qui se voilent. Le fait de se couvrir parait neutraliser les tensions hommes-femmes.

There are two main reasons for wearing the Islamic headscarf in Egypt . Firstly, many Muslim women believe that the Koran requires them to cover their heads. Even if it is a religious issue, it is also a question of security. The second reason is that many Egyptians seem to respect “covered” Egyptian women. When a woman covers her head in Egypt male-female tensions seemed to be lessened.
