CES and the EU Center have funded many working groups and research projects over the past 7 years of funding from the European Commission. Our working groups have been extremely productive, with some 11 published volumes and dozens of articles and papers-many of which are contained in the following conference web pages in the early drafts.

Over the past decade, research teams at UNC-Chapel Hill have collected expert data on the ideological and policy positions on European integration of national political parties. The latest update covering six time points (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 1999, and 2002) was released May 2005. The dataset has become a highly respected and widely used instrument in the study of European integration. These data sets can be accessed here. A new round of data collection is currently extending the research for EU-25+ Bulgaria and Rumania (possibly including Turkey, countries of former-Yugoslavia, and Ukraine).
