Comparative Social Policy in Western Democracies

Globalization, European integration, and transformations in central and Eastern Europe have reinvigorated the scholarly debate about the structure , meaning, and future trajectories of welfare states in Europe . This group, organized by John Stephens and Evelyne Huber (UNC Political Science and Sociology) will host a workshop and co-sponsor a conference examining the impact of global economic forces and international organizations on social policy in Europe.
