Teacher Training Initiatives

CES collaborates with the many other organizations on campus and in the state dedicated to enhancing the teaching of international studies and foreign languages. Each year CES co-sponsors programs with the following organizations.

World View, a UNC program training K-12 and Community College instructors in international and area studies.

World View Study Visit to Spain and the Basque Country, June 2005 (PDF) - "Each year, World View offers a Study Visit Abroad for North Carolina educators. In June, 2005, with the generous help of the Basque Government, World View led thirty K-12 and community college educators to Spain and the Basque Country. This Study Visit followed the pattern World View has set in past years—offering school visits, personal contact with local families and colleagues, and an immersion in culture and daily life."

North Carolina in the World, a state-wide initiative to enhance global education and languages in North Carolina schools.

NC in the World NEWS is a monthly electronic newsletter produced by the Center for International Understanding. It captures state and national level global news of interest to those in North Carolina's international education movement.
