Exercise Physiology

Dr. Robert G. McMurray, Professor of Exercise and Sport Science, Nutrition, and Physical Therapy, Coordinator of MA specialization in Exercise Physiology

Research interests:  pediatrics exercise physiology (diabetes, energy metabolism, and cardiovascular disease risk factors), sports nutrition, and exercise endocrinology.

Teaches:  Nutrition for Sport and Exercise, Exercise Physiology, Assessment of Physiological Function, Research in Exercise Physiology and, Seminar in Exercise Physiology.

 

Dr. Anthony C. Hackney, Professor of Exercise & Sport Science, Nutrition, and Cell-Molecular Physiology, Director of the Applied Physiology Laboratory

Research interests:  biochemistry of exercise and exercise endocrinology. 

Teaches:  Physiology of Exercise, Assessment of Physiological Function, Special Topics, and Seminar in Exercise Physiology.

 

Dr. Bonita L. Marks, Associate Professor of Exercise and Sport Science specializing in Exercise Physiology; Director of the Exercise and Sport Science Teaching Laboratory (ESTL); Director of the Undergraduate Fitness Professional Track

Research interests:  Interaction between aging, exercise, and cognitive decline; falls risk in older populations; tennis sports physiology.  

Teaches:  Exercise Testing and Prescription in Healthy Populations, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Physiological Basis of Human Performance (undergraduate exercise physiology); Practicum supervision. 

 

Dr. Claudio Battaglini, Assistant Professor of Exercise and Sport Science 

 

               

          Research interests:  Primary interests include:  research involving the administration of   

          individualized prescriptive exercise interventions as a complementary alternative medicine 

          in the management of cancer treatment-related symptoms.  Secondary interests include: 

          triathlon, marathon, and swimming training methods.

 

          Teaches:  Physiology of Exercise, Clinical Exercise Testing & Prescription, Practicum in 

          Exercise Physiology

 

 

Dr. Kristin Ondrak, Lecturer of Exercise and Sport Science, Assistant Director of the Applied Physiology Laboratory
 

Research Interests: Pediatric exercise physiology (including obesity, diabetes, and physical activity)

Teaches: Human Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription in Healthy Populations, Sports Nutrition
