Professional Summary

Elizabeth Hedgpeth received a double major in History and Psychology from Meredith College in 1987 and a masters and doctorate degree from The University of Virginia in 1997.  Her dissertation is titled Injury and Rehabilitation:  Perceptions of Injured Football Players During the 1996 Season and was directed by Joe Gieck, Ed.D. ATC, PT.  This is a qualitative study of six injured football players that reveals relevant differences in the culture of football versus the culture of rehabilitation.  These differences impact the athlete’s adjustment to injury and rehabilitation. Working with injured athletes is a perfect fit since Elizabeth is also an RN and the medical background fits well with injury and rehabilitation. Her interest is in stress management, arousal regulation and attitude control. She designed a pre shot routine for golfers, produced a DVD and wrote a monograph describing the routine.
