Experience in the operation of a complex athletic department is
crucial to the complete preparation of future athletic administrators. The specialization in Sport
Administration at UNC integrates a variety
of required experiences into the curriculum. These experiences are distinct
during each year of the program.
- Year One: Gain Exposure in a 28-sport athletics program
- Assist UNC personnel in game operations
- Plan and execute ACC and NCAA championship events
- Assist during meetings regarding eligibility, drug education, and
counseling
- Learn the NCAA Compliance software
- Year Two: Acquire specialized skills and experience
- Develop, investigate and complete a thesis project related to a
pertinent question or problem in intercollegiate
athletics.
"The Department of Athletics and the Department of Exercise and Sport Science
enjoy a strong and well-developed relationship that results in significant
benefit to the graduate students in the Sport Administration Program. The
Athletics Department is committed to the continuation of this relationship
and to the success of the students in the program."
~Richard Baddour, Director of
Athletics
