The Specialization in Sport Administration

Unique

• The UNC Sport Administration program is the first program in the country that uniquely focuses solely on preparing students for careers in collegiate athletics administration.

Integrated

• The two year program offers challenging and beneficial academic and applied opportunities each year.

• Year One includes formal coursework, completing 24 graduate credits, and practical experience working in operations for the UNC athletic department.

• Year Two includes the completion of a master's thesis related to athletics administration, seminars, experience in a full-time internship in the UNC athletic department, and a one credit hour seminar course during both the fall and spring semesters.

• Students in the program are committed to a career in college athletics.  Those admitted to the program bring a variety of experiences, athletic and academic backgrounds, and perspective to the program - yet share a common goal to gain employment in college sports.
