New
grant on landslides to Larry Band and Martin Doyle
Larry
Band and Martin Doyle
of the Department of Geography,
University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill, have received
a grant from the US Forest Service for $74,098 entitled,
“Development and application of a process based debris avalanche
model for
Western North
Carolina.”
This
project will integrate a process based ecohydrological model that
will incorporate the spatial distribution of vegetation canopy and root systems, and the mechanics
of debris slides, focusing on sites in Coweeta LTER and
surrounding area.
