Phil McDaniel I
graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk,Virginia with a BA in Geography
and a minor in English Literature; I was presidednt of the local chapter of GTU (Gamma
Theta Upsilon) at ODU; my primary interests include things with a more environmental theme
(such as integration of RS and GIS to tackle ecological issues), in addition to an
increasing interest in cultural biogeography (ie. the ways in which cultures use,
perceiveand treat the landscape); I'm a first year master's student, unsure asto whether I
wish to continue on toward the PhD; I'm originally from Norfolk Va; at one time I was a
history major, with every intention of becominga high school teacher; currently I'm
working with Dr. Gary Bowen in the school of social work, dealing with at risk children in
NE D.C., aswell as TAing for Dr. Steve MacGregor for his GEOG 191- GIS course.
