Carolina Experiences
. . . a series of excursions designed
to introduce you to some of Carolina's treasures and the remarkable
range of scholarly activity that animates a great research university.
September 13 "Imagining the Invisible"
Visit the lab of Professor Jack Griffith, a researcher at UNC's Lineberger
Comprehensive Cancer Center and a member of the faculty of the Department
of Molecular Biology and Immunology. Professor Griffith
has been honored as "the world's most outstanding electron microscopist
working with DNA." He will offer us a look at the microscopes in
his lab, share some of the astounding images that he and his research
team have produced, and explain how their work is generating new insights
into aging, cancer, and genetic disease.
October 7 "Carolina Shakespeare"
Join Professor Christopher Armitage for a trip to the Fletcher Theatre in Raleigh for a performance of "A Comedy of Errors."
Additional event details will be announced here and via the Honors listserv. Watch your email for invitations to sign up.
