"I was attracted to Carolina by its combination of academic excellence and opportunities for social involvement. The Honors Program has given me a very challenging academic program but set in an environment free from the insularity and 'ivory tower' mentality of some academic communities. My Honors courses set my mind spinning in all directions, but they eventually lead me back to make real-world connections and formulate practical objectives towards which I can apply the knowledge I've gained. My work with the Honor Court gives a pragmatic focus to my idealistic belief in the value of personal integrity--a belief my Honors experience has helped to cultivate."
