The Institute of African American Research (IAAR) was established in May of 1995. It began as the research arm of the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Cultural and History (SHSCBCH). While it is now an independent unit under the auspices of the Office of the Provost, the IAAR continues to have a healthy collaborative relationship with the SHSCBCH. The IAAR is under the interim directorship of Dr. Tomeiko Ashford Carter. more
