SPRING COMMENCEMENT 2008

The Curriculum in International and Area Studies held its 2008 departmental commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 2:00-3:00 pm in the Nelson Mandela auditorium of the FedEx Global Education Center (GEC). A reception in the GEC atrium immediately followed. Over 140 students were recognized for receiving the BA in International Studies. Graduate Elizabeth Carlson, winner of the 2008 Douglas Eyre Prize for best thesis by an International Studies major, spoke on behalf of the students. Her speech included a humorous list of "the top 10 defining aspects of an International Studies major." Click here to read the list.

About 350 people gathered in the atrium of the FedEx Global Education Center after the ceremony for a celebratory reception.

 

SPRING COMMENCEMENT 2007

The departmental commencement ceremony for International Studies was held Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 2:00-3:00 pm in the auditorium of the new FedEx Global Education Center. It was followed by a reception in the GEC atrium.
