INTERNATIONAL AND AREA STUDIES COMMENCEMENT
SPRING COMMENCEMENT 2008
The Curriculum in International and Area Studies held its 2008 departmental
commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 2:00-3:00 pm in the
Nelson Mandela auditorium of the FedEx Global Education Center (GEC).
A reception in the GEC atrium immediately followed. Over 140 students
were recognized for receiving the BA in International Studies. Graduate
Elizabeth Carlson, winner of the 2008 Douglas Eyre Prize for best thesis
by an International Studies major, spoke on behalf of the students. Her
speech included a humorous list of "the top 10 defining aspects of
an International Studies major." Click
