Instructional Materials

This page displays materials currently utilized by the ISSP to aid in international social studies instruction.  Pictured below are the seven units that currently comprise The World in Transition series, developed by the Southern Center for International Studies (SCIS).  Further information about these materials, as well as up-dates to each unit, can be found at the SCIS website (www.southerncenter.org), which is an excellent source for international links as well.

And the newest addition to the series:

Each unit contains an instructional guide and videotape. The instructional guide features comprehensive critical essays and extensive lesson plan activities. The videotape contains segments specific to the lessons in the instructional guide as well as excerpts from the Southern Center's Peabody Award-winning meetings with former U.S. Secretaries of State, Defense, and Treasury, and other world leaders.
