Study Questions
for "A Walk in the Woods"


1.  What qualities make a person a good negotiator?  What qualities make a person a good diplomat?  Are those two terms different?  If so, how?

 

2.  How were the experiences of World War II different for Russians and for Americans?

 

3.  Are Americans "peace loving people?"  Why or why not?  Do you think Russians are "peace loving people?"  Why or why not?

 

4.  Are nuclear weapons a threat to peace or a safeguard of peace?  How might weapons be though of as "bargaining chips?"

 

5.  What do we know about treaties?  What makes them last or not last?
