Monday, Sept. 9, 7:30 PM:
Novelist Peggy Payne will read from her latest novel, Sister India, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. 
Thursday, Sept. 12, 7PM:
Universal Chanting
led by Mark Smith and a group of singers and instrumentalists.  You are invited to join in  a participatory community experience of  traditional and original chants.
Wednesday, Sept. 18, 4PM:
Roundtable Dialogue
: “Art and Spirituality in the 21st Century,” moderated by Barbara Matilsky, and featuring the artists of art/spirit/art

On the Education Foundation Terrace of the James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence in Graham Memorial Hall:  

Thursday, Sept. 19, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM: “Thursdays on the Terrace” performance by Cynthia Rylander Crossen and friends.
Thursday, Sept. 19, 4PM:
Functional Art from Earth and Fire, Cherokee pottery workshop.
Cherokee potters will hold a participatory workshop to teach traditional methods of making Cherokee pottery.  Space is limited for this event and all participants must pre-register. UNC undergraduates may participate free of charge.  For non-UNC undergraduate students there is a workshop fee of $75. Registration for this event will close on September 13, 2002. To register and arrange for fee payment, call 966-5110.  The workshop will be held on the Education Foundation Terrace of the James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence in Graham Memorial Hall.
