The James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence, located in Graham Memorial Hall, offers four seminar rooms and two medium-sized
classrooms, all outfitted with state-of-the-art teaching and communications
technology. Other features include a coffee bar and terrace; a commons
room for lectures, performances, exhibits, and films; a kitchen for catering and
on-site food preparation; and a living/dining room where faculty and students
can gather for a meal or informal small-group discussions. Graham Memorial's
oak-paneled lounge, the heart of the University's first student union,
has been restored as a place for reading, study and quiet conversation. (See
below for reservation instructions.)
The Johnston Center also administers facilities located in the adjacent
John Motley Morehead Building: the State Dining Room, the Banquet Hall, and
the Faculty Lounge. (See below for reservation instructions.)
