Morton, Andrew. Diana: Her True Story. New York: Pocket Books, 1992.

This is the famous book thought to have been ghost written by the princess, a rumor that was confirmed by the author after her untimely death in 1997, after which he released the princess's secret tapes. When first published, the publication of Diana was one of the scandals that led to the break-up of the fairy tale marriage of the heir to the throne and his beloved consort. The late princess is depicted as both victim and knowing manipulator of the press and her image. Diana is mandatory reading for anyone doing serious research on Diana Spencer's life and cultural significance.
